I admit the undertones aren't very subtle but it's a bit of fun! The pale lime colour represents Super Glow ink. Thus the vinyl disc and the lettering glows in dark places such as clubs...

Also apologies for the rather bad output from Freehand... There's a lesson there...

change the placement.. should be chest level.. and make the design smaller.. also dont put a different dark blue over navy.. i like the design tho.. maybe u could add the rarm n needle from a record player..

I haven't experimented with a playing arm yet - I just wanted to test the water with this first. I've managed to smarten it up a little so it looks a little more how I intended. What do you think?

i laughed. i think you need the playing arm for the pun to be full, though. i like it on the navy. have you tried adding a little white to the design?

My original idea was to have what is now yellow as having some luminescent night-glow. Unsure about white though - it would obvious create obvious highlights but I'm not sure where to put them... Glad it made you laugh though!

I love it, but you do need to add the arm to it. is this a 45? Maybe add the little superman adapter in the middle?

I think the arm would help, maybe a whole turntable. The text on the 45 seems a bit much, maybe put the " I'm single play me on the 45. and make it bigger.

II'm not sure I like the black edges around the text, or if it's the font of the text that sits wrong... something about it makes it so that the overall excecution don't reach the normal high threadless standard... Maybe play around a lil more with the colors and fonts of the surrounding text? But this is just one man's opinion...

Hey, geoff - this is nicely done and the development is good, but honestly, I don't think it will score well as a design - however good the visuals are. IMO You're better off trying it here as a slogan. This will give you immediate feedback on what people think it.

Hehe, in what way? I drew out the font myself so changing it shouldn't be too much of a problem (just takes a while!).

I don't know if anyone else has said it yet but here are some suggestions.



A. make the spindle hole an actual 45 hole. Don't use the more modern small hole. The true 45 single hole is larger.



B. drop the 7" text and make the 45 say 45 rpm.

Also, your record grooves should be closer to the outside and furthur away from the inside.

Well I never intended the record to appear realistic as such, but I suppose it would aid the visual as whole to make it look as genuine as possible.



I did at one point have 'RPM' but I can redo that. I wanted to keep the 7" but I guess retaining it is up for debate.

I'm not trying to say make it super realistic, but the groove placement was just something I noticed which clicked as being off.



My only problem with the text is that out of hundreds of 7"s that I have, not one says 7" on it that I can recall. They all have speeds but never a size designation.



The 7" could be on there because you feel that it portays the 'single' aspect, but so would the 45 spindle.

The 7" was there for other reasons... Blame my British sense of humour! I'll get rid...

Right guys... two things I want to know really:



1. Change "45rpm" to a 'default' font?

2. Navy, dark grey or brown tee?

I don't even know if you need the 45rpm on there, it is understandable without. However, if you leave it on I would change the font, I don't know if one of the default would be best, but I think it should be different than the main text.



For colors I like dark grey best, then navy

Kept the 45rpm to emphasise the fact it's a single. It probably isn't vital, but I think changing the font to something more generic would help.

It is clever, I like it :) As for colors, Im not the best person to ask I'll leave my vote aside until I see what else other people are looking for. Cuz afterall, for all I know it could be 1000x better or worse! But i do like it

I really like this, and I know a few friends who would totally wear this. But I still feel like something is missing.

i think its pretty ready to sub.. i think when u sub it u should add a brown shirt also.. i think it looks good on that color as well as the gray.. kool design..

maybe for the letters to pop a little u can add a stroke drop shadow..

Not sure... it might be back to the drawing board as it were... people keep saying it's missing something, so I think I'll go back to the start... thanks for the feedback anyway guys!

a stroke drop shadow is like when u have a line on one side of the letters to represent a 3 demensional aspect.. the line isnt touching the letter.. its sort of disconnected but contours to the shap of the letters.. if u added that in the same color as the letters it might add some nice pop.. the black shadow u got doesnt show up too well.. i like the design tho
