Very good art work, reminds me of Amercian McGee's Alice. Will there be a problem with the colors? Since you have some gradients and shading that I think puts you over the 8 colors.

Personally, I'd shrink the placement on the shirt slightly, and drop the shadow, for the sub.



Maybe strew a few matches around the box; she just dropped it so she wouldn't get caught holding it, after all.....

Crazy!!! I love it!! It's high impact, in your face art. The colours are really strong which suits the perspective and line work perfectly!!

permanent: the face of "litle devil" must be place over the breasts, so it can 't be too small...

Make the design just a little smaller. It also looks heavily metallic almost unhuman. Maybe downsize any reflections u did? Give the design a little more fleshy look? Just ideas. It looks good but needs some more work. Keep it up!

The drawing is good, but im not so sure about the shading. (plus i think it breaks the 8-colors-limitation). Maybe do the shades with more solid colors, or halftones. As for the tee I think color #3 would fit best.

great design, i'd go with 2,5 or 8. Not 9, the red shirt takes away the impact from the red hair in the illustration and not 3 for the same reason but with the blue skirt.

I think 3 offers the best contrast and makes it unisex as well.

3 or 6. I LIKE the idea that she melts into the tee a little more with the shadowing so go darker tee not lighter. But you cant please everyone - so on your final submit show 3 options.

Shouldn't she have a tail? and a pitchfork? The artwork is top notch, but add something to give it a theme.

Very interesting perspective and great illo.



Maybe a bit smoother, less blotchy under the chin. And maybe close the chin line, there's no other open lines except on the ankles (I'd close those too). Either that or add some broken lines to the shirt and skirt, so all the line work is in the same style, and/or compatible with each other.



As far as shirt colors go, do like you did on V5 with your favorite color, (I hope not white) as the background and use your second favorite on the model. Look at all the printed designs and click on the original subs, you won't find more than 3 colors shown unless they did a flash presentation. Too many colors is too much.

I think it's far too big in the placement. For a little devil, she's fucking huge. Scale it down, and it'll give more of a accusing sense to the design, we'll really feel like we're looking down at her, and she's looking back at us. Right now her head is as big as the person's wearing the shirt.



Also, I'm not quite sure the colors are working for me. I don't think the light blue t-shirt you're using as the base is working well - but more importantly, I'm not sure the gradient style coloring looks as good as it could. I'm not a fan of gradient coloring in the first place, but overall the incredibly neon-ish like tones of your colors really don't work for me.



Also, I think the illo would work better if the girl had more of a softer, younger face, with innocent eyes yet a sly smile, instead of the borderline slutty 20-something-year-old face that the girl currently sports.

bry yrb: They are a lot of designes accepted having more 8 colors. I can do this with 6 colors with gradients, but it's lesse nice. I'm not sur how they calculate the colors and gradients.

It's possible to simulate cmyk proces, donc maybe ....

I'have a vector version vith simple color only, but it is not very nice.

Then perhaps I wasn't clear. I guess I'll have to explain further:



The design is too big. Simple as that. Scaling the design down on the t-shirt will not make her look like a tiny person (and nor should she be a tiny person), but rather make the design fit, and enhance the perspective of the illo. You've drawn her in a way that suggests she's looking up at us, as if we've caught her in the act. If the design was scaled down to around, say, 3/4ths the size that it is now, it would only enhance the perspective, help center the eyes on the entire illustration, and not have us pulling back and trying to make sense of it.



Look at the size of the model's head, now look at the size of the head on the design. They're pretty much the same. The head is so huge, that my eyes tend to not want to look at anything else but that - therefore missing the chalk and eraser, the rest of the design, etc.



Try showing a few more different models wearing the shirt, instead of the one you're using now. For a fantastic selection of models and shirts that more easily translate a design's placement if it were actually printed, follow this link here ...

I just think it's worth experimenting with. I'm by no means certain that making the design smaller will make everything suddenly click and come into place. Yet, when I look at the size of the design on the shirt, it just blatantly seems too large. Be gradual with your size experimentation: shrink it a tiny bit, see how it looks. Shrink it a tiny bit more, and see how it looks. And so on, and so on.



By colors, I mean the colors are far too bold. They're very strong. Perhaps less saturated tones is worth experimenting with.



And yeah, I think she looks kind of mature. As in a 20-something year old wearing a school girl's costume. That's the least of my concerns with the design, however.

How important is the idea that this girl is the embodiment of a daemon? Unless you explain very clearly in your sub, no one is going to look at this design and think that this is a daemon of fire in a body of 12 year old schoolgirl. People are going to assume this is some sort of naughty schoolgirl type scenario. And, should you explain to them that this is a daemon of fire in a body of 12 years old schoolgirl, do you think there's enough universal appeal to that concept?



It's just things to consider.

of course, a image have not a explications in a life, but generaly people seethat are already seen this image feel that she is not only inocent girl... you are a first one having different opinion. But it's not possible to create somenting generaly charming things...

the matches look too "clear" to me- like their focus is too sharp, maybe? could you fuzz them out a little more? i also feel the back of her head isn't quite big enough, or her "bangs" start too far back on her skull.



all that aside, I'm not sure how threadless is going to handle your gradients.. really unique design, though.

i like the perspective of this one...

maybe emphasize more on the matchbox, to get the idea of a devil a bit stronger... maybe some more matches laying around, and some already burnt... otherwise you can easily miss the idea behind it.

I think this design is really vivid and pretty cool. The only thing that seems a little down played to me is the matches, while I think they should be subtle and not too obvious at the moment they seem a little thin and while they are probably proportionately correct they just look like lines in the design.

Otherwise I think this is ready to submit.
