This is fun/interesting: Cymbolism.
It's a game/survey/study where you associate colors with different words (usually abstract concepts). In their own words (though I'm unsure what they mean by "quantify" here): "Cymbolism is an attempt to quantify the association between colors and words, making it simple for designers to choose the best colors for the desired emotional effect. Cymbolism tracks these associations over time (and in future versions by user demographics)..."
At long last, here is my Secret Santa blog! I knew I was in for a treat because Barclay kept sneakily licking the box. So I opened it up...
![]() A package from our very own Squintygirl! Everything was wrapped so prettily and the little notes made me laugh: ![]() Side note: Michelle has amazing handwriting. At first glance, I thought the letter she included was written in bona fide calligraphy. And here is her equally impressive needlework: ![]() Haha, it's so precious... it is now gracing an end table in my living room. So many fun things... ![]() I can't wait to kick a$$ and take names at Scrabble. Also, I had no idea Threadless had those Field Notes pads! Neatorama. And I love this rainbow stone bracelet: ![]() All in all, I made out like a bandit. Thanks so much, Michelle!
If you were to create an old-fashioned haunted house (i.e., one without modern-day movie villains/monsters like Jason or chainsaw wielders or that mask guy from Saw), what would you include? For example, what kind of rooms would you want? What kinds of monsters/scares? What props?
Thanks! ![]()
It seems like some people are just naturally good at folding things and straightening things up and putting that extra polish on the organization of their bric-a-brac. When I was younger, I thought it was a girl thing, because other girls always had good handwriting, folded their notes neater, and had perfect poufy bangs. I feel like I've always been sloppy in every one of these aspects. Even when I try, I don't do neatness well. Like I try folding towels the way my mom taught me when I was little and somehow they always end up in big, blobby burrito rolls. If I try to iron a shirt, I'll think I have it perfect only to find that I've ironed a gigantic crease across the back. And so on...
So: Are you neat? Can neatness be learned? How can I learn it?
Do you have any ideas for a good wedding present for someone who doesn't have a registry? Married people, is there anything you could have used when you were first starting out but that you forgot to include on your registry?

Does anyone listen to the radio anymore? I have to listen to the radio in my car a lot because I'm forgetful and lazy when it comes to recharging my iPod. Anyway, radio stations generally stink rotten eggs but I do appreciate two things about radio listenin':
* I get to listen to (or am forced to listen to) stuff I normally wouldn't. * There's something serendipitous about chancing upon a good song on the radio, be it something old or new. It's a lot more exciting to listen to a stellar tune when it's played for you than when you just punch it up on your own. Kind of like how a sandwich is much more delicious when someone else makes it for you. So now I will list some songs I've heard on the radio recently that were awesome: * "Star Man" by David Bowie * "If You Leave" by OMD * That mashup of "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" And I will list artists who I think are lazy and tedious: * Nicki Minaj And ones who have sort of won over my heart: * Katy Perry * Rihanna
Word clouds are one of my favorite types of clouds, aside from lenticulars.

Hello, everyone. I am starting a trivia team at a local bar and we need a good name. So far I'm stuck on The Pug Smugglers but I'd like to have some options to choose from. STPs if we go with your name (or maybe even we don't).
Tell me about your day using clip art/stock photography.
