I know... I know... You love threadless and so do I, but I'm competing against them right now and I need your help.

Both our sites were nominated for Community Website of 2007 by the Webby Awards.

Yes, my much smaller community site www.COLOURlovers.com is competing with this behemoth of a design community.

I'm sure the skinny corp. boys remember what it was like when they were the little guy and are ok with your voting for the extreme underdog.

Hmm. Maybe this isn't the best place to be publicizing yourself and asking for votes.

I also promote colourlovers. Though it was Threadless bloggers who pointed me to colourlovers, so my heart, soul, and pants goes out to Tless first & foremost.

good luck! I know a lot of people on here use your site.. even though I'm not a designer, I really enjoy it as well.

Weet! Go colourlovers!

Threadless is an awesome site but I'm a sucker for underdogs.

oh sweet dude, I use colourlovers a lot. But, I gotta vote for Threadless cause it makes my pants buldge a little bit more each day.

DariusM on Apr 12 '07 at 11:32am
Voting for CL probably won't have much affect on your pant buldge decreasing... threadless will continue on being amazing with this award or without it and honestly they have a pretty good chance of being the judges choice... so why not support the way underdog in the People's Choice?

Jeffrey, I've got huge love for threadless and if I wasn't in this competition I'd be voting for you!

yeah it's kinda dick to ask for votes on your competitions website. You have a nice site and all, but threadless all the way!

lsmc88 on Apr 12 '07 at 12:50pm
yeah, I've never heard of this site before, but i think its kinda cold that ur using your opponent's site to get votes. Its as if you are in a race and your opponent is carrying you through the race and then lets you go at the end for you to win. no disrespect tho, good luck

i must say tho that looking at your site, i can immediately see how handy that site is.

God damn that navigation bar is annoying... It looks like a good site but that rollover style is driving me NUTS.

@ IFDL - You're right; threadless is small in comparsion to delicious and you guys haven't won a webby either. Maybe it would make a great story if you took the even littler guy under your wing? I'm damn certain you guys worked your asses off to get where you are and that all the nominees are deserving of an award so why don't both you guys say F*** it and give eachother a hand up?

I don't really know what my point is or what I'm trying to say. I just think that everyone knows about flickr and delicious so sites like threadless and colourlovers should stick together to inspire inovation, and let's be real, there comes a point when all that hard work should pay off at least enough to grab a McHappy meal every week. lol

I wish both sites the best - I love them both and they both have a great devotion to making the best possible structure for what they do, and they are always making improvements.

um...maybe im a retarded non-artist, but what is this site exactly about? You just create color palletes and share them with others?

DariusM,

This blog has stink on it. I doubt you would appreciate

Threadless posting in your community/blogs some

reasons for people to vote for their website.

You're walking all over the golden rule.

I also like the site -- but I think the concept is flawed. The combination of pallettes are 'limited' and not only that. The wrong poeple are getting credits for it. Seems like they invented it or something...

But what do I know, I'm also a colourlover ^^

It looks to me that many Threadless members use colorlovers to help create their designs. Threadless does need other sites, because the colors don't just appear on your computer.

I think they can work hand in hand without anyone getting nasty.

I think threadless should get the votes first.

helo - To be clear, I didn't come here and create a threadless account just to try and steal votes away. I have been a member here for almost two years.

I understand how passionate some of you are about threadless and like I've said several times, I love this site too!

But, I am in a popularity contest against multi-million dollar sites... I don't see trying to rally votes to win the viewer's choice award as any kind of threat to threadless.

P.S. If there was any chance that by my site winning the people's choice award, it would hurt threadless in any way... i wouldn't be posting here.

Meh, flikr is kicking everybody else's asses.

(I did my part and voted for tless though)
helo
helo on Apr 13 '07 at 3:47pm
I'm not referring to whether threadless would be hurt or not.

I'm talking about how you probably wouldn't appreciate other

sites trying to pull votes away from your website to theirs

on your very own website/blogs.

I'm glad to see that Threadless is supporting you by telling people to vote for you. That is very respectable of them. Your site obviously helps out a lot of designers with their color selections.
