It makes me glad to think of how everyone has done their bit to carve out such a tightly knit community over the years, and how many people have stuck with it, even if it's just in spirit.

So things are kinda weird right now. I'm about to move from NZ to Australia in about a month... and my husband is already over there hunting for jobs while I'm working at my job here til he gets one. It's strange, we haven't seen each other in weeks. But the strangest part is that I'm living at my parents house to save on rent... living with my parents wasn't exactly an experience I ever wanted to revisit but I guess it's going okay. And I'm excited to move to Brisbane but there's so much stuff that has to happen before I can and it still feels so far away.

I'm just feeling like I'm in limbo, waiting for stuff to happen, but until it does I'm neither here nor there.

There have been a lot of new kids posting some nice blogs (or at least ones that aren't titled "Awww, this is a shame!) which is kind of cool, especially since things have been so quiet here over the Christmas break.

And hey old folks, hows it going?

Because I just want to talk about it to get it off my chest, but everyone in Christchurch is sick of hearing about it already.

So, if you didn't know: Christchurch has been having earthquakes since September 2010. It's been almost 16 months and we're still having huge aftershocks (like the one we had today, oh joy) that close workplaces, demolish liquor cabinets and generally make people crap their pants in fear. It's really fucking lame, but honestly, I'm coping just fine... it's watching other people freak out that gets to me. Like my parents. And my grandparents. And children.

So yeah. Does anyone else feel like talking about earthquakes? Or we could talk about other stuff, I don't mind.
