Threadless

This is SUCH a fabulous design that I am majorly bummed that Threadless removed the vivid blue on the monster hand and likewise made the cookie & bed accents (perfectly drawn with a moon shining in) dim... They did a bit of injustice to the $6! shirt design that I wanted SO much. Surely most don't want it SO blended in that the monster hand just looks like a pale rag draped on the door.

Obviously, the artist is not at all the object of criticism here. Yeah, it is cheaper to use less colors... But corners shouldn't be cut for such deservingly high scores that they should *know* will sell like hotcakes (even if the Sesame St/Henson references are flooding the site, a Hensonite like me can't help but $5 the great ones).
I love (no pun, promise) that I see...

Love, lovey, "thx love" or "thx lovey"

along with love swerv!

Or "Thx, Love!" "OK"...

And I like that the placement is mostly sideways...

The newspaper clippings, though... phenomenal. I mean, if it were just letters... meh... but the actual papers instead of scribbles you kinda just feel don't "go together" even if it's cause of the font in books/papers being justified...

My point? This is amazing. That's all. Well deserved $$
I'm a small framed female (Small on the Girly Shirts) and 5'4" (I think tall women might not be able to get away with it, in other words), and the size 8 is a nice loose fit... I could probably get away with a size 6, too, in the new sizing... if you're small and like this, go for it-in this case, the picture is the perfect size (I hate it when kid shirts get really shrunken designs as far as the % of the fabric covered, and this one... perfect).

OH YEAH the other detail? The kids shirts... thicker, meaning I can finally wear creme in threadless clothes! I seriously can't on the girly ones cause the material is just too thin. This made me sooo happy. (especially since the threadless brand whites and cremes are all going back in the girly line).
Here's a fair place for me to say a couple things regarding this print... first off, the color isn't quite what the picture implies... there's far more green to this, which in my case is fine... I actually purchased it because the room it will go in has unfortunate gray carpeting that won't be removed anytime soon and also has similarly shaped cream and purple flowers on otherwise neutral bedding... point is if you're expecting silver, it's more like... a sagestone hue muted down a bit. What looks cadet and denim blue on my screen ... has quite a lot of greenish color splashed in. The parasol is truely a deep sage, as are the pale looking flowers to the visual left of her waist. The pinkish purple is a somewhat neon lavender tone--if you know the "red violet" crayola color, imagine filling in with that shade without pressing down too hard... that color has a bit of sheen to it. The rest is fairly matte.

The other thing... I wasn't certain about materials... it's essentially thin card stock that can easily be rolled up (and is shipped as such in a tube). You'll need to somehow mount or frame it if not both. Otherwise, the slightest bit of moisture will bend it.
I can't possibly write a new post for every single shirt that I received damaged or even list every shirt that IS damaged... I'm still in shock over the first half of them... so I'll just make a list of what's wrong with what I got:

Russian Newborn: Brown vertical stripe down the white nurse and across the pale part of the "mom"

Usual Day at Work: um, it's sticky, like glue, all around the collar and a few other seam areas... but allll around the collar, it's tackier than duct tape, ew. It also has a huge (like 4" wide, 14" tall on the vertical then 6-8" across, too!) iron print where an aqua shirt is suddenly white.

Hide and Sheep: not sure if it's okay to wash it, because on the inside, there's a really dark adhesive that is gooey and I'm scared it would soak through/stain the regular shirt ... it's on the front, on a big area that has no print on it

Tief Fairies: there was a long string dangling that had gotten the design pressed over. Now there's a stripe of no-design area and a colorful string.

Parable Paranoia, I always liked your porridge better, and Didn't have a clue (and Someday, almost forgot): designs are not the right size or on the right place... on someday, I have 2, so it's safe to say when one of the chicks is the size of the other chick's foot... there's a weird issue... the sizes aren't THAT different.

Le Romantique: The ink is flaking off several spots, there's a white streak on the colored part, and there's a black streak on the non-printed shirt area at the chest... and on top of that, the printing made the shirt gather somehow to make ridges all down it-so attractive, lemme tell ya

No Peeking, Peaceful Kingdom, Runnin Rhino (which is also sized wrong, safe to say with 5 other shirts being the same number and tee brand and totally different fits), Russian Newborn, Usual Day at Work: all have 2 vertical iron stripes where the shirt is faded enough to see from a few feet away and the printed part (if any) is damaged :(

I feel like this was the "sale of mess ups" ...

I also feel like crying because the shirts that are solid quality and that took the print part well are ALL either American Apparel or kids (half the kids being AA, half Threadless, and the AA ones are just better altogether)... even on the ones that got iron marks, the shirt quality itself is superior ...

So I'm bummed... I have 4 more shirts and a print coming tomorrow and want to cry, knowing they'll likely be sent back :(

All of this, too, was double-injury because Threadless failed, repeatedly, to respond to inquiries from me (to service @ threadless.com) and even instructions on my order to please contact me to make sure I had the sizes right...

BTW, anyone who hasn't already made the switch to Threadless' brand... the sizing isn't accurate. The men's large is smaller than they say (on all 4 of the shirts we have in that size), girly small is larger, and kids size 6 and 8 are both inconsistent on the Threadless brand. Oh, and one of my Threadless brand girly small ones happens to be 4 full inches longer than it is supposed to be.

Shame on threadless. I remember when they were a true boutique store. Now... my cafe press el cheapo shirts being better than these... is sad.
For anyone at all curious about this shirt's appearance, durability, etc... well, I got it over 2 years ago when it was *first* printed... and it's held up to a lot of wear, washing (inside out on gentle with cheer free or woolite), and... well, it gets a TON of compliments ... and yes, people do know it is depicting a panda.

People seriously love this shirt entirely... as do I. It was a gift, and one I love...

It hasn't faded hardly at all and there are no "cracked" or irregular places on it. Overall, great tee....

That said, it *is* a bit thin, so... I have to be cautious in what bra I wear as most do indeed show, but it's no reason to not get it, really, because it would otherwise not fit so darn well and actually show curves if it were super-thick... I'd like just a tiny bit more material, but small small detail. It might look weird, though, on someone really tan/dark unless an undershirt was included (it does look quite cute with a long sleeve undershirt!)

I have used Threadless since... um... college. A long time ago... in their really early days. I have since moved a few times, changed emails totally, and forgotten what my old login name on here was, so here I start again... ah, been a long time, but I'm glad this site is still thriving :)
