lmerlo72 on deviantART is reimagining pokemon in a totally awesome way. He's only got about 20 more to go and they're absolutely awesome.

Update 1
I went over and redrew the whole thing, I'm going to add the masks when I put it into photoshop later, so here they are headless. I also kind of like the idea of the bright pink colors, I might try to make that work.

Also, you'll notice part of the second guy's jack is gone, I'm not sure what Illustrator is doing here. I drew everything with the pen tool with a 1pt stroke, expanded it, and used the pathfinder window to divide it, breaking everything up so I could delete the parts that overlapped. I double checked and everything is 1pt, including the part that's not showing up. If I zoom in to that part, the weight look the same, but when I resize it to smaller or zoom out it disappears. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Here's a rough draft of what I'm working on at the moment. I used to always have this dream of four people dressed up really nice with burlap sacks pulled over their heads with scary faces crudely painted on them that would kill everyone. So I thought I'd draw it and try to make it as scary as possible. Is it worth pursuing farther? I'm going to move them closer together, fix a lot of the weird layering wonkiness that's going on, maybe add some ties, and refine the work as a whole. The masks I just threw on there real quick to show what it might look like.

So I after a lot of time spent trying to make my ideas and not liking my finished product, and emailing people only to find them busy or unresponsive, I have decided to make a blog with some of my ideas. It's taken me far longer than I thought it would to draw up and crudely photoshop them, but I am finally done.

Here's a potential sub for the Loves Horror comp, going with a more conceptual design rather than a blood-guts-everybody-dies sort of thing.

What this idea means to me is that we all have to accept death at some point in our lives. It pities no one and often seems to strike randomly, yet we tend to live like we have all the time in the world.

So basically, before I sub it, have any critiques or anything? Does something look a little wonky, or too much texture?

They always pop up where you least expect them. And then you GET ANGRY. Or vote. Or whatever.
