makes sense.... and pretty well executed. main criticisms: cutesy, includes text.

Yeah, I see from other submissions that the text v. no-text battle is a big one. I'm totally open to dropping the text if it improves the design.

I like the design a lot. I just don't know what the design has to do with the theme. I guess I need to know what pet. means.

For the "beat the design blues" competition -- my personal method for cheering up and getting over any blues is through some cat belly-rubbing therapy.

My idea was that cats (at least mine) are very demanding and petulant about where they'd like to be pet.

I like the title with the illustration, but if you were going to have text then it seems like you needed the whole "pet the pet". I also think without any text at all, the image would almost look like a dead cat... and I don't think you want that. Keep the text, just work on finding the best wording for you and maybe make the text smaller. Nice shirt and illustration.

The cat dose Not look dead...all the goth freaks that are into dead things make their drawing look reeally dead. This cat is cute and demanding attention in that passive agressive way that cats do so well. The Text is questionable...often its not whats said, but left unsaid that can be damageing..."Pet." Pet what ? Pet my cat? Pet my P*ssy? When the shirt is being worn (I really doubt many men would want to wear this shirt) will the small arrows be pointed to a persons parts? Seems that the cat is not asking to be pet, but more like the shirt wearer!

In a more posative mode...I really like the drawing of the cat, the shading, the asian feel of the drawing, the cat face, all apealing and a Very good 1st submission. The kitty looks happy and in a good place inside its kitty world. I would rather see just the image of the cat, maybe more horizonal across the top half of the tee, with no words or arrows.

Two letters say it all: a and w

Aww.

I'm lovin' it. Great colors, really liking the yellow and the brown --- the pink and blue aren't really baiting me. And white, fluffy kitties are just... wonderful.

i think it's adorable, but something's a little wonky with the back legs.. i think the point at which they bend just needs to be a little more defined, coz, to me at least, they kind of look like kitty nubs. lol.

i really like it though, especially on the orangey-yellow.

EvilCarrotChomp: Is this what you mean?

It looks like you were intending a double entendre, and a rather crude one at that. If that wasn't what you wanted to say, you should look into refining the text.

The illustration is okay, looks like you were basing it off of a photo. The shadows are well rendered for the most part, but like forecast mentioned, the right back leg needs a little more definition. It's a cute idea that has a market, but given threadless' past selections, I'd say this is unlikely to get printed. Good luck in the voting, though.

every girl who is 14 looking at this site is going to say "i want this" but there's about 2 billion t-shirts in the world with a cat on them. this isn't universal enough to make sense of " beating the designer blues". actually, none of these are. text looks quite gaudy on most shirts, the arrows... well, i don't know about those arrows. no thanks. be more creative.

a little too cutesy for my tastes. Decent idea that just needs more thought, I pretty agree with most everything evilina just said.

themissy: yah that's what I meant. I'm not sure if I like it better that way or not, but it's an interesting way to play with the design a bit more. Thanks for honoring my request!

You use the same line weight on the whole thing, which makes it kinda stagnant.

I like this design because it reminds me of my cat, and it is not too cute. It is hard to find a cat shirt that isn't too cute for my taste. I like words on shirts.

clean illustration....can dig it......think it could be smaller and over the right or left side......i dont think i would run around wearing a shirt with a big pussy layed out on it.......but like i said if it were smaller and over the right or left side.....then maybe......but I DO think its clean work.
