since the idea was to look like an old medical woodblock (and one that people would recognize as Gray's) i can deal with the periphery being almost identical you obviously did a lot of work reworking the muscles, and tying them in knots; and the snake is a nice touch if "Vitruvian Y.M.C.A." was ok - then this should be fine as well personally, i don't think i'd wear it - but, the idea and execution deserve a 5 |

The artwork is really really good but I give it a 2 because I would never wear it and don't think it would be a good t-shirt.

This is beautiful. If you've ever found a boy scout handy-book with detailed pretty little drawings of all the different knots you can tie, THIS DESIGN is even MORE detailed and PRETTIER. $5 absolutely!

the design is great and the detail is amazing... however wouldnt this be conciderd as stolen since you edited someone elses drawing. usualy people are really picky about stealing and it seems like their just letting this go or maybe i am wrong..

eskimokiss on Jun 05 '06 I changed over 70 % of it, and the parts that remain the same I drew over with differing line weight and in some places less detailed.
I wouldn't consider stolen, otherwise I wouldn't have submitted it. As I said it's inspired by the image, and in a way it's a parody of that image and many more 'medical illustrations' like it. I'm a great believer in post-modern, chop n' change, cut'n ' paste art. If you use someone else's artwork or part of their artwork in one of your own I think it's essential to bring a new meaning to that artwork or alter it's context and bring something new to the mix. I think my interpretation has done that, but ultimately, it is you the voter, and the threadless staff who will decide if I have been successful. |

As has been said, I love it, but Plait is misspelled. I would TOTALLY buy this. Actually, several... I have a couple of friends who're chiropractors.
