Conditions générales
- This event is open to all active community members on Threadless.com. There is no limit to the number of cars a member may submit.
- Members are responsible for obtaining their own car kit, and must ensure that the kit complies with #3 Section(s) a-i stated below. If you need suggestions for where to obtain a car kit, please contact Charlie Festa at charlief@skinnycorp.com.
- All cars must pass inspection to qualify for the race. The inspection points are as follows:
- The car must have been made during the current year.
- The width of the car shall not exceed 2 3/4 inches.
- The length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
- The weight of the car shall not exceed 6 ounces.
- Axles, wheels, and body wood shall be as provided in the kit.
- Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
- The car shall not ride on any kind or type of springs.
- Any details added must be within length, width, and weight limits.
- The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices.
- Any car that does not pass inspection to race will still be eligible for the Best in Show award.
- The competition brackets will be randomly selected and will be announced no later than one week prior to the event. This event will be single elimination.
- The starter will make sure the cars are on the track properly and then will start the race.
- An assistant to the starter will be stationed at the finish line to record the results.
- The car whose nose is over the finish line first is the winner.
- If a car leaves the track, runs out of its lane, interferes with another car, loses an axle, etc., the race will be rerun. If the same car gets into trouble on the second run, the contestant is disqualified and automatically loses that race.
- The event will be held on May 16-17, 2008. All entries must be received no later than May 2, 2008. No exceptions.
- In order to participate, you must have a user profile on Threadless.com
- Each participant is responsible for shipping their car to the Threadless.com headquarters, at 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave. #106, Chicago, IL 60613. Each participant should pack their car in a sturdy box padded with bubble wrap or shipping popcorn. In the box, also include a print-out of your Threadless.com profile page.
- Once a car is submitted, it will become the property of skinnyCorp, LLC.
- Trophies will be given to the top 4 finishers in the event, and a trophy will also be given to the “Best in Show”, as selected by a panel of judges from Threadless.com. Additionally, gift certificates to Threadless.com will be given to the winners of the above mentioned categories: First Place will receive a $100 gift certificate, Second receives a $75 gift certificate, Third receives a $50 gift certificate, Fourth receives a $25 gift certificate, and the Best in Show will receive a $50 gift certificate.
